A bar stool is only a distant relative to the regular stool and chair in the sense that to a bar stool, supporting your seat and your feet are equally important functions. Tawa – which means ‘tower’ in Japanese, is part of Anderssen & Voll’s ongoing study into bar stools, trying to give these functions an equal representation. The result is a product that is functional but also sculptural and architectural.
