Cabine Mirror is designed by Inga Sempé and is both a full length mirror and a coat stand. The double mirrors reflecting in two directions increase the volume of the room in which it is put. In French, Cabine is the name of the place where one tries on clothes in a clothing store, and also the name of rooms in boats and trains. This piece of furniture is like a tiny house, behind it people can dress or undress, and organise one‘s clothes and belongings; outside it people can look at one‘s reflection. While this product is highly functional, it also reflects Japanese cultural values like the importance of keeping one‘s home tidy and presenting one‘s best to the world.
キャビンミラーは、全身を映す鏡であると同時にコートスタンドでもあり、2方向に反射するダブルミラーは、置く部屋を広く見せてくれます。フランス語で「Cabine（カビーヌ）」とは、試着室を意味し、船や列車の部屋の名前でもあります。この家具は小さな家をイメージしており、その奥で服を着たり脱いだり、服や持ち物を整理したり、またミラーの前で自分の姿を眺めたりすることができる。キャビンミラーは、非常に機能的であると同時に室内を整理整頓し、自分のお気に入りの物を大切にするといった、日本文化の価値観を反映しています。
